The Aslan Health Newsletter just got an upgrade, so your wellness can, too. New home. New sections. Same heart.  Same mission - Serving You!  Your weekly wellness newsletter from a Biblical worldview!

Our new home is on the platform, Beehiiv: a better look, clearer sections, smoother delivery, and more ways to interact. Today’s edition will guide you through each section of the new format, so the Aslan Health Newsletter becomes less “information overload” and more real-life transformation.

If this is your first read, welcome! In subscribing to the Aslan Health Newsletter, you will receive one email each week with clear, practical guidance to help you pursue stronger health with less confusion and more confidence.

Here’s what you can expect:

• Evidence-informed, wellness insights that you can actually use (not trendy noise).

• Simple, sustainable habits that support energy, sleep, stress resilience, and metabolic health to optimize your wellbeing.

• Responsible education on supplements; what to consider, what to avoid, and how to think clearly about products, best practices, quality, and safety.

• Encouragement for your whole person, because to understand your design, you must appreciate your designer.

My approach: I aim to be clinically accurate, biblically grounded, and practically helpful. My goal isn’t to overwhelm you with information; it’s to provide useful direction and next steps that you can easily apply to improve your overall wellness on life's journey.

Here is a glimpse of the new format:

A Roar From The King!

Format note: A short grounding moment to steady your mind and aim your week.

1 Corinthians 16:14 ESV “Let all that you do be done in love.”

Love isn’t just an emotion. It’s what keeps discipline from becoming harsh, and knowledge from becoming pride. Even your health stewardship—your sleep, your food choices, your habits—can be an expression of love: love for God, love for your family, love for the body you’ve been entrusted to care for and steward.

The Mane Thing!

Format note: This is the main weekly article. Practical, readable, and built for action.

Most people don’t have an information problem. They have an implementation problem.

Your week is already full. Your brain already has too many open tabs. If health content feels heavy, confusing, or disconnected, it becomes one more thing you “should” do… but don’t.

That’s why this intentional direction adjustment matters. This weekly newsletter is changing platforms to be more useful. Clear sections. Cleaner reading experience. Better delivery and more opportunities for connection, interaction, and transformational momentum.

Truth: your health is shaped more by your weekly rhythm than by your occasional effort. A steady flow of endeavor can create massive change, just consider the Grand Canyon as an example.

This newsletter is meant to be that steady flow: a weekly touchpoint to help you Reveal what’s really going on, Reset what’s off track, and Renew what’s been depleted.

Let’s talk about why formatting matters… biologically.

Your brain is constantly filtering: Is this relevant? Is this urgent? Is this safe? When it can’t quickly organize what it’s seeing, it spends extra energy trying to decide what to do next. That energy cost is small moment to moment, but it adds to your allostatic load over time.

Two important principles:

  • Clarity reduces cognitive load. When information is organized into predictable sections, your brain wastes less effort “searching,” and has more capacity for “doing.”

  • Small actions build trust in your nervous system. Every time you take an action step like drinking water, taking a walk, breathing slowly, or going to bed on time, you send your whole self a message: I’m safe. I can rest, repair, restore, and grow.

That’s not just motivational talk. It’s whole-body nervous system training.

When you practice small, repeatable actions, you’re shaping your physiology: stress hormones, inflammatory signals, blood sugar patterns, sleep depth, and even your ability to recover from emotional strain.

This “better format” is not just a cosmetic upgrade. It’s a usability upgrade… and usability is what turns knowledge into wise actions and, ultimately, into transformation.

Here’s a helpful analogy:
If you dump a thousand puzzle pieces on the table and work without the reference image on the box, you may feel overwhelmed. But if you have a clear picture and begin with a handful of edge pieces, the puzzle is less challenging and comes together more easily.

This newsletter is the reference image on the puzzle box; each section is an “edge piece.”

You don’t need to digest everything perfectly. You need a clear path to take the best next step.

Pick one step.

  1. Skim the section headers first.
Before you read, scan the section titles. Your brain relaxes when it knows what’s coming.

  2. Read “The Mane Thing”.
Read, looking for one step that becomes your action for the week.

  3. Act on one tip within 24 hours.
A 10-minute walk. A protein-forward breakfast. A 2-minute slow-breath practice. Cease scrolling at bedtime. Good habits set the stage for good growth.

  4. Use the “Questions From Cubs” as your coaching corner. Even if the question isn’t yours, the answer may encourage and direct you.

  5. Reply with one question or a win.
Connection with others is good medicine. Your feedback helps shape future topics to meet you where you are and helps me serve you well.

Questions From Cubs

Format note: A reader’s question, with a practical answer.

Question: “How should I use this newsletter if I’m busy and already overwhelmed?”

Answer: Your goal is not to “consume content.” Your goal is to reduce friction and increase follow-through.

Here’s a simple way to use this newsletter in a few minutes:

  • First, read the “Roar”. That’s your mindset reset.

  • Second, skim the “Mane Thing” and choose one action step. The next doable step.

  • Third, if you have time and personal margin, enjoy the rest of the content and grow!

And here’s the secret: when your nervous system is under strain, complexity feels threatening. Simple, direct steps feel safe. I will keep aiming for simple, practical, direct, and useful.
